On 8 May 1982, driver Gilles Villeneuve lost his life driving a Ferrari on the Zolder Circuit in Belgium.
Fiorano Town Council commemorated him by naming the road from the entrance to the Fiorano Track after him. Local enthusiasts also erected a bust of him near the entrance to the track in 1983. The monument is positioned around 150 metres from the Ferrari Maranello Museum.
