Fiorano Circuit and the 'Motor Cities Network'

Fiorano Circuit

In 1972, Enzo Ferrari decided to open a trial and test track for Ferrari racing and GT cars, driver testing and training, and training of mechanics and the sports team, in Fiorano.

The track is owned by the Ferrari Racing Team. The entrance is in Via Gilles Villeneuve, in Fiorano Modenese. The track is closed to the public, with the exception of the shuttle service with tours managed by the Ferrari Maranello Museum.

The circuit was designed by Ugo Cavazzuti on the specific instructions of the Drake. It is over 3 km in length, with 14 bends and a chicane.

It has a 'telemetry' system that sends all the information needed for development of the cars to the box.

A television system with ten fixed video cameras films the car along the entire track.

The box has a television, timing and telemetry control room.

In 1998, which marked the centenary of the birth of Enzo Ferrari, Fiorano Modenese dedicated a major cultural event to its important citizen.

Every year, in late August and early September, the amateur rally for vintage cars is now a tradition, with a route taking in the tourist attractions of the area.

Fiorano Modenese is on the 'Motor Cities network'.

The Motor Cities association, which was set up in 2008, brings together, under the auspices of the ANCI, twenty-five Italian towns in ten different regions which have motoring traditions, in terms of production, sports (race tracks and historical re-enactments) or culture (museums, collections, archives).

It is all documented on the Motor Web Museum portal, the virtual and interactive museum designed by the ‘National Motor Cities Network’ and dedicated to the Italian motoring tradition.
