Spezzano Castle stands in an agricultural setting of crop fields and natural areas (bushes, woodland areas, wetlands).
The landscape of the historical park of the Castle dates to the mid 1800s.
The main part of the park has the typical characteristics of plain woods, with Quercus robur (English oak), Fraxinus excelsior (ash), Acer campestre (field maple), Tilia platyphyllos (linden), and also severally recently planted specimens of Cedrus atlantica (Atlas cedar). Oak trees, maple trees, hornbeam trees, yew trees and cedar trees are distributed throughout the park, which is crossed by paths and walkways bordered by boxwood hedges. The green area at the bottom of the park has a picnic area.
A footpath/cycle path starting near the castle crosses part of the park and leads on minor roads to the town of Fogliano (Maranello). The path also connects Spezzano Castle with the Salse di Nirano Nature Reserve (Nature - Fossa River path) and Nirano and Montegibbio castles (footpath/cycle path).
